Green Steel Printing
Steel provides the backbone of our modern world, but it contributes over 7% of global CO2 emissions. Green Steel Printing is a zero-carbon steel manufacturing method that vertically integrates the green hydrogen conversion of iron-oxide ore into iron powder and 3D printing of iron and steel objects. Their laser heating technology provides a clean source of industrial heat to replace coal powered blast furnaces, and metal 3D printing subverts traditional energy and carbon-intensive manufacturing methods. Green Steel Printing earned UC San Diego's Triton Innovation Challenge Grand Prize and University of California's Big Ideas Contest.

Farmz2u
Farmz2u helps farmers farm better by leveraging data. The company’s ecosystem provides smallholder farmers with access to technical expertise and resources, including affordable loans, high-value inputs, and a marketplace for produce sales to operate at commercial scale. Their data-centric solutions result in improved farming practices, optimized yields, increased profitability, and reduced harvest loss, with the mission to address United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal 2, Zero Hunger, and 12, Responsible Consumption and Production.
After completing the Techstars Sustainability Accelerator Program, Farmz2u is now focused on scaling commission-based revenue streams on three supply-side groups: financial institutions, input providers and offtakers. They recently signed a partnership agreement with Harvest Plus, an input provider, and are exploring pilot opportunities with multinational brewing company AB InBev. The company also released their first sustainability report.

Aquaai
Aquaai provides affordable data to all blue economy industries seeking to operate sustainably in a climate changing world. Historically, data from waterways is costly to harness and affordable only to the deep pockets of defense and oil & gas. The company reduces the expense that goes into collecting and tracking environmental data by providing an affordable end-to-end solution called FaaS, fish-as-a-service® to the blue economy players. Customers access the information on a software platform, and the data is harnessed using patented bio-inspired fishlike autonomous underwater vehicles that "swim" unobtrusively in the natural habitat.
Aquaai has revenue from paid pilots and prepayments on purchase orders for nearly 100 of their AUVs. The company recently serviced Norwegian Arctic Circle sustainable salmon farm Kvarøy, suppliers to Whole Foods, Fulton Street Market and Michelin chefs.
