Company Ask: We’re always looking to connect with companies that are considering starting sustainability programs or are struggling to manage existing programs. Even if our platform doesn’t end up being the right solution for them, these conversations help us build a better solution.

Mycocycle offers a Process-as-a-Service to the waste management industry, manufacturers, and governments to filter out harmful toxins from trash and create a reusable byproduct. The process, founded on mycoremediation, offers a regenerative path forward to create circular reuse opportunities using fungi as both the treatment and the byproduct that can be used to create new biomaterials. In January 2022, they completed a scaled paid pilot of their work. Their CEO has been named to the 2021 Environment+Energy Leader 100 Honoree List and they are a finalist for Fast Company’s 2021 World Changing Ideas Award.

Losses to diseases and pests in food production are substantial; globally, it’s estimated that up to 40% of yields are lost every year, affecting food security, farmer livelihoods and national economies, and are made worse by climate change. Pebble Labs was established in 2017 to develop a novel, sustainable, and broadly applicable biological platform focused on plant and animal health for food production. Their platform technology, Directed Biotics™, delivers safe and effective biological solutions to sustainably protect crop yields and quality through solutions that target formidable pests and diseases. Their precision engineered, endosymbiotic microbes are living biofactories inside the host that deliver RNA molecules continuously and systemically. The result is a crop that is protected with biotechnology that is not itself genetically engineered. Their first Directed Biotics™ products are applications in agriculture and aquaculture. Pebble Labs was named winner Of The Better Nutrition Category At FAO's World Food Forum.
