#️⃣ Glass Recycling, Sand, Cullet
Glass Half Full collects and recycles Louisiana’s glass “waste”, which has historically ended up in landfills, into sustainable and functional resources such as sand and glass cullet that can be deployed in a wide array of applications ranging from coastal restoration and flood mitigation to eco-construction and sandblasting. By converting glass into eco-friendly sand and gravel, the Company is reducing waste, fighting the coastal erosion crisis, mitigating natural disasters, and creating green jobs and industry.
Since starting in a backyard in 2020, Glass Half Full has recycled more than 4 million pounds of glass, received funding for research from the National Science Foundation, partnered with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and completed 4 major coastal restoration projects, restoring several miles of the NOLA coastline and sequestering carbon by restoring wetlands.

Permalution
#️⃣ fog, water, harvesting
Permalution is developing cloud water and fog collection technology to address water scarcity and climate adaptation challenges. The Company owns a proprietary database containing over 900,000 minutes of data pertaining to approximately 25% of the world’s fog and cloud water hotspots. Its Fog Collectors can harvest about 150-400 L of water per day per unit. By tapping into cloud water and fog, Permalution aims to bring a new water source to the market that is more affordable than desalination plants, more efficient than rain, and safer than groundwater extraction.
Permalution has already deployed projects in agriculture, conservation, climate change observation, and mining and is on track to generate CAD$762K in revenue in 2023 and CAD$3.4M in 2024. It also won CAD$250K Best Woman in Tech Investment Prize at Startup Fest Montreal 2022.
