ClimateRaise is a newsletter for our network that showcases early-stage climate startups led by women, non-binary and gender non-conforming founders, and connects them with climate ecosystem partners. Startups featured are actively raising. The newsletter is short and to the point. We want to provide you with useful information, not flood your inbox with yet another lengthy publication.
How it works:
🔎 We find vetted, actively raising women-led climate startups.
📝 Our biweekly newsletter then highlights a diverse selection of those startups.
🔗 We give investors, founders and ecosystem partners the opportunity to opt-in for 1:1 introductions to the featured founders.
📩 Submit companies, opportunities and founder friendly resources here.
Our team is growing!
ClimateRaise is seeking Directors and Fellows who are passionate about ClimateTech and supporting gender equality. Please share with your network, or apply! Here is the opportunity description and the application form.
First things first, data
While our focus is on gender inequity, it would be delusional to solve it without considering its intersectionality.
Earlier in 2022, we redesigned our founder submission form to allow for more granular self-identification. We keep up the work to scout and feature more founders from traditionally excluded groups. We also recently signed the EDICT pledge to build a more diverse, more inclusive, and stronger sector. One of the pledge’s commitments include data transparency to hold ourselves accountable and encourage others to do so.
Here is our founder and founding team diversity data for S2 2022.
15 out of 21 companies featured in 2022 are led by founders who self-identify as belonging to traditionally excluded groups1. Since launch, this represents 40 out of 131 featured companies.
Most of S2 2022 featured companies are led by at least one founder who identifies as white, Asian, or belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community.
In S2 2022, half of the featured companies were led by all women teams, the other half by mixed gender founding teams. Half of these teams are led by a CEO who identifies as a man.
